By now we've all seen this, right?:
Where to begin? Some talking points:
An eight-month-old in a forward-facing car seat? The fact that Poor Sean P. is in the blazing sun with no hat on?Does he have sunscreen on?
Do we really need to review the comedy of errors that has been her parenting style up to this point? And, I use the term "parenting" loosely.
Somebody help me buy a clue before I fuck up reeeeeaaaaal bad, y'all. It's lahk I kin feel it comin', y'all. I'm seeeerious.
This situation is just plain sad. Really. How else to describe it?
Sad.
The fuck?
*******
Edited to add (because, really, this is a learning opportunity):
Babies (at least in California and as recommended by the AAP) are to remain REAR-FACING in their car seats until they are 20 lbs, AND (AND, people) ONE-YEAR-OLD.
Chest clips should be at the child's armpit- (or nipple-) level and the straps should be so tight that only one finger can slide under them.
And, the center of the back seat is the safest place for the baby to ride. If the center is not an option, the second safest spot is behind the passenger—NOT THE DRIVER—even though parents love to put their babies on the driver's side since it makes them easier to load. (It's not about YOU. It's about your child's safety.)
I cannot believe how many parents do not know this.
Once again, let's hope people learn from Britney's (terribly unfortunate) mistakes.
