As of 11.30PM, I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, however, I'm going to bed with hope restored. Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House, Rick Santorum (whose name I can no longer say without throwing up in my mouth a little thinking of Dan Savage) is defeated, and it looks like Prop. 85 is headed that way as well.
I'm also going to bed tonight extremely proud of being a San Franciscan. No only is San Francisco home base for Ms. Pelosi, but as of right now 77% of the voters in our county voted no on Prop. 85, the highest "no" percentage in the state. (Higher even than the hippies in Berkeley and the "hot-tubbers" in Marin County.)
Unless something goes horribly wrong during the night, we did it!
Thank you to everyone who blogged this issue, everyone who talked to a pro-choice friend or family and urged them to vote, and everyone who voted NO ON 85!
We stood up for vulnerable teens and for a woman's right to control what she does with her own body!

As of 10:17PM, looks like we got this one in the bag: 53.1% NO, 46.9% Yes. From behind in the polls, to too close to call, to VICTORY for women's reproductive rights! Yeah!

As of 9:11PM, here we are! Eeeeeee! Still a nailbiter, but at least we are (ever so slightly) ahead!
