I do, but I make sure to choose something that is actually do-able. If I said I intended to climb Mt. Everest in 2009, I'd be bound to fail, because it's not going to happen. In 2009 or any other year.
I ever make them either because I tend to forget about them by the second.
On a completely unrelated note, we just found out my 4yo is going to need glasses. How difficult was it to keep them on Wallie in the beginning? Has she ever lost/broken them?
I give myself a pass on the traditional new year "resolutions". I tend to reflect and resolve during the Jewish new year and Yom Kippur. It's definitely a lot easier to do when it's warmer and the days are longer.
I have tons ... a whole list of what I want 2009 to be ...
The absolutes though -- whether I call them resolutions or intentions:
#1 - being more conscious and present with my budget and spending habits.
#2 - training for a full marathon in late spring ... it means being good to myself, my body and carving out time for myself.
Happy New Year!

Mine are more "guidance" in the new year - something to motivate me to reflect on my journey (rather than some goal like LOSE 50 POUNDS).
And! A couple of practical things (like actually learn how to use my dSLR camera!). I'm working on my non-resolution post - resolution post RIGHT NOW.
