I never say no to receiving free books and Table Talk by Carol McManus with Brenda L. Horrigan is a perfect example why. O how I loved this cookbook! The book highlights simple, fresh, good recipes designed to bring families together at the table. It's divided into sections like: The Dinner Table, The Breakfast Table, The Weekend Table, and each section boasts simple classics like roast chicken, butternut-apple soup, macaroni and cheese, stuffed chicken breasts, and vegetable ragout.
The warm and sunny photos that accompany the book are stunning. I'd like to move to Martha's Vineyard (home of the cookbook's author) right now. I'll definitely visit someday and hope to share an espresso and tasty treat at her cafe.
What I liked about this book: Everything. The recipes are inviting, not intimidating and focus on fresh seasonal ingredients. The photographs complement every aspect of the book.
What I didn't like about this book: There wasn't anything I didn't like. This book is a culinary gem.
